High Precision Machining/Manufacturing Capabilities

All instruments and components manufactured internally start in the Manufacturing / Machining Department, the heart of the production operation.

Every order received gets logged into the ERP system and received a “Job Traveler” that stays with the order until it is shipped. Internally made items often start with bar stock made from stainless tell, titanium, aluminum, brass, carbon fiber, plastics, polypropylenes, or silicones.

Using multi-axis Swiss lathes (sometimes called “screw machines”), the Company produces high quantity, high complexity instruments and surgical components for the ophthalmic, ENT, and other sectors. With the Company’s Swiss lathes, the headstock contains a component (collet) that clamps the material. The material is then fed through a customized guide bushing, usually made of carbide, loose enough so the matter can slide smoothly through it, but tight enough to keep the material from flexing away from the cutting tool. The guide bushing allows the appliances to maintain very tight tolerances concerning part diameter, even over long lengths, a +/- .0001 in precision.

A key part of the Company’s ethos is focusing on the capabilities of manufacturing. The Company utilized a trained staff of skilled workers who use the latest state-of-the-art equipment, produce the highest quality instruments in the industry, at a very competitive price and timely manner.
